Art Lesson Elements of Art Craftivity

Art Lesson Elements of Art Craftivity

It can be used by Homeschool and 4-8th grade students.

Included: PDF, 17 Pages

With this 3D crafting activity, you can get students to think about art and become familiar with its elements. While creating a piece they love, students will also learn more about design elements and how to complete their displays.

This guide focuses on six aspects of design.

• line

• shape and form

• space

• color

• texture

• value

If you would like to create your own design, there is a blank panel. Each page has an element that students will use to decorate and cut the panels. Finally, they’ll assemble and display the resources in a 3D model.

This resource contains options for two different sizes – one on full sheets (great for display in a larger area and for students who need more room to work), and one on half sheets (great for smaller display areas and smaller designs). You can print only what you need. To create the craftivity, you will need six panels. I have included the 6 panels plus a blank template for both sizes – the blank template can be used to add your own design element, or use as a cover page in case you want to assemble the craftivity into a flip-book format rather than a 3D resource.

*** Extra student pages containing the Canadian (UK, Australian) spelling of the word “colour” are also included at the end of this resource.

For summative and formative assessments, a rubric can also be included.
