Although I was aware of people who used Virtual Field Trips with Google Slides to teach elementary music, I wasn’t certain. This Virtual Field Trip to Opera was a great way to introduce opera Carmen to my fifth and fourth graders. You can use it for remote learning through Zoom or as a whole class.
Google Slides is an activity.Click on the person or object to be taken to the virtual “theater”. Students will click on a person or object to take them to the next section of their virtual field trip. Students can answer questions and show off their learning after each section of Virtual Field Trip.
The Virtual Field Trip shows the opera Carmen. Students will be able to learn more about Carmen’s story, its setting and composer Georges Bizet. You can also learn Les Toreadores choruses so they can sing along.
