HOW TO USE THIS RESCUE FOR DISTANCE LEARNING:
- To access the Google version, use the links in this downloadable PDF. Simply click on each link to make a copy for your Google Drive and then assign the Google Slides as a class project to your students.
- Use the TpT’s new digital tool! Click the “Create Digital Activity” button after you have completed your purchase. This will allow you to access a version with text boxes that can be used by students and a highlighter tool to color it. The digital overlay can be edited or left as it is.
- Kami is a Chrome extension that you can download to your computer. This extension allows you to share individual files with students, even if the entire file is not needed. After you have selected the pages you wish to share, you can email them to students or parents so they can complete the assignment.
- DocHub allows students to easily create PDFs. DocHub is an online and mobile PDF editor. It can be used free of charge within any Google app. Students can highlight text and answer multiple-choice question by using DocHub.

- Compare & Contrast 2 Fairy Tales
Students can find commonalities and differences in each lesson by looking at the theme, patterns of events, or topic.
Each lesson follows the same format.
- Students are required to read 2 stories of traditional literature: Myths/Fables/Folktales or Fairy Tales.
- Students create a Venn-diagram that allows them to compare and contrast themes and subjects in both stories.
- Students are asked questions regarding topic, pattern, and theme.
- Students will compare the stories by using setting, character traits, conclusion, and text evidence.

To introduce the topic, pattern and theme of this mini-unit, use the first 2 pages. Give students the opportunity to practice these literacy skills.

All stories have been revised with many additional details. My original ideas for all comprehension questions, graphic organizers and comparison activities were used.
