Easter Lesson and Art Activity for Children: Unicorn Rooster

Our students should be exposed to different artists. Here is a project called ‘Unicorn Rooster’ (originally called ‘Coq Licorne’), in the style of Jean Dallaire, an artist from Québec, Canada.

  • Grades 3 through up

Technique:

  • Magazine collage and drawing

Visual Language

  • The patterns
  • Lines that are thick (or wide)

Materials

  • Permanent black felt marker
  • Colored felt markers
  • Colored magazines
  • While glossy paper is the preferred choice, regular paper can also be used.

  • A small activity will be provided at the end of this document to engage the more advanced students.
