Description
Quadrilateral Robots: Project-based Learning Math Activity, worksheets & game. My “Quadrilateral Robots” lesson allows students to engage in hands-on learning about quadrilaterals. You will find a quadrilateral robotic art project, a “robot-road” game, and high-level thinking worksheets.
Quadrilateral robots consist of only parts that are quadrilateral–squares rectangles parallelograms, squares, parallelograms and trapezoids.
All of the examples in colored have been included to help you show your students how the final product will look. All of the quadrilateral shapes templates required to make the robots have been included. I also added a creative twist to vocabulary cards. Six 8.5″ x 11.5″ vocabulary posters have been included that you can print out and laminate to put in your living room.
This lesson also includes game called “Robot Road” which is intended to be used like a family tree. I’ve provided a Robot Road both in color and black and white. You can print separate pages with robots that you like in color or black and white, and then have your students color them. After the robots are cut out, students can move the robots along the road to determine the quadrilaterals. They will use this game as a way to solve the questions in the worksheets (third files).
The quadrilateral worksheets are included in the third file. Robot Road should be used by students to discuss the quadrilateral definitions and to answer the questions on the worksheets. Students will need to solve the questions in order to encourage higher-level thinking.
This is a favorite of mine. I hope yours do too!

This was a great tool for my fourth grade summer school class. They had a great time building their robots, and they were very engaged during the entire activity. These robots were loved by the class and they could take them home to show their family.
Wonderful resource! This resource was invaluable! After some exploration and introduction to two-dimensional shape, it worked very well. This is a great, engaging project that helps students understand the differences between shapes and uses specific vocabulary to build their robots.
