Special Education Informational Text Reading and Writing Recipes

This activity explores the topic of informational texts and encourages children to create, have fun, and write! Our Lunchtime Cooking Club is made up of a wide range of students. One of my special education students may be a member of the group. They might need reading assistance or social skills training. One student may bring a friend, but then it is opened to everyone. Students bring the majority of ingredients and I add my own. Students are keen to share their creations with me. It is writing with meaning.
