Here’s a Body Percussion Rhythm unit for your Music and Dance students! This is a great unit to use at the beginning and end of the year. I love the body percussion name games. It includes fun percussion videos, warm-up percussion videos, stomp video examples, learning goals, lessons, rhythm composition worksheets (1) Beginner Grade 3-4 (2) Junior/Intermediate), rubric example, Ontario music and dance expectations, etc… Depending on how you use the unit, it can take many weeks. Students can learn about bodypercussion and practice it as a class. They can also review learning goals and success criteria, create a Stomp performance together in small groups, write rhythms, practice practicing their Stomp creations outdoors or indoors, and then perform. Any questions? Please feel free to reach out to me. Enjoy this unit with students!
UPDATED 2021 – Additional body percussion resources web links, as well as lessons and instructions have been updated.
This is an amazing resource that has great videos and lesson plans. Chrome Music Lab works great for creating composition plans. Thank you so much!
